Yamhill County is one of 5 counties comprising the Portland metropolitan area and is located SW of Portland. State Highway 99 leads from downtown Portland through Yamhill County and down the Willamette valley west of Salem and to Corvallis. Connecting with Highway18 near Dayton, it is also the main route from Portland to the central Oregon Coast (Lincoln City).
The Greater Yamhill County area includes the cities of Newberg (pop. 22,000) and McMinnville, the County Seat (pop. 32,000) and the towns of St Paul, Dundee, Dayton Lafayette, Amity, Sheridan, Willamina, Grand Ronde, Carlton, Yamhill, and Gaston. It also includes much of rural Sherwood, rural Hillsboro, and rural Salem. Marion County which includes Salem is to our SE, and Polk County is south of Yamhill County.
Many of our Realtors® know areas beyond the greater Yamhill County area. These areas include the west side of Portland (including Woodburn, Aurora, Canby, Wilsonville, Tualatin, Lake Oswego, Tigard, Sherwood, Beaverton, Aloha, Hillsboro, Cornelius, Forest Grove, and more.
