Special Events & Places...Recreation, B&B's & Resturants
As more & more visitors discover each year, Yamhill County's 718 square miles contains far more to do & see then just sip world-class wine & gaze at rolling rows of lush vineyard land. The county is home to two of the state's top-10 tourism draws: the Conferderated Tribes of Grand Ronde's Spirit Mountain Casino, located west of Willaminia & the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, home of Howard Hughes' fabled "Spruce Goose" airplane.
Below you'll sample just a taste of Yamhill County's many offerings including the area's Bed & Breakfasts, dining establishments, and shopping districts. Please peruse the sites we've linked to. You'll find they are informative and enticing. We will continue to add information, update our site, and review the establishments in order to provide you with the most up-to-date information about our area's attractions. We are members of the Yamhill Valley Visitor's Association, which is a local organization dedicated to promoting Yamhill County's local economy and tourism industry. We invite you to view the association's site, as it also provides helpful information on this beautiful region of Oregon.

In 1935 eight St. Paul farmers and businessmen conceived the idea for the St. Paul Rodeo. Cowboys came from all over Oregon, 50 of them strong, to compete for a rip-roaring purse totaling $500. In 1940 lights were added for night rodeos and purses were increased. Growing crowds prompted construction in 1945 of new bucking chutes as well as a grandstand and bleachers that provided 9,000 seats. Eleven years later another section of grandstand was added to bring the present total seating capacity to 10,500. Today the St. Paul Rodeo, held July 1-4, is in its 72nd year and continues to pursue its goal of producing the finest world-class rodeo in the country.

The event continues to celebrate top agriculture and farming efforts in the county and has grown to one of the area’s biggest summertime events, featuring famous singers and bands and one of the state’s biggest carnivals.
