Lafayette
Lafayette is a small charming town located in the heart of Yamhill County. It is just 35 miles southwest of Portland and 25 miles north of Salem. The city has over 10 acres of parkland and open space, including facilities for youth baseball, and a community center available for public rental. Downtown has many great small businesses and restaurants.

FYI: Founded by Joel Perkins and named after his hometown in Indiana. Yamhill County’s first county seat and incorporated city.

The three story vintage 1912 Schoolhouse found a new life as Oregon's largest permanent antique display. It is filled with the wares of over 100 antique dealers. The adjacent gymnasium displays antique oak, pine and mahogany furniture.
Located next to the post office and across the street from City Hall, Abigail Scott Duniway Park is named in honor of one of the nation's most prominent advocates for women's right to vote. The land was donated by the Leard family and developed jointly with the City. It contains an Oregon State Heritage Marker, gazebo, peace pole, and picnic area.
Listed on the National Historic Register, this 7.1-acre park features the remains of the old locks that once permitted boats to navigate up the Yamhill River to McMinnville. Meandering paths and picnic areas, under a canopy of ancient Douglas-fir, allow for nice views of both river and locks.
